Located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, The Waymark Hotel reimagines the historic Chattanooga Bank Building as a distinctive hospitality destination. Within the hotel, The Vault offers an intimate dining experience set inside the building’s former bank vault, where preserved architectural details meet a refined, contemporary atmosphere.

Designed to feel immersive, elevated and memorable, the space required an acoustic environment that would support conversation, comfort and ambiance without compromising the design vision led by Dutch East Design and HK Architects. Akouo Acoustics was sought out to deliver an acoustic solution that performed beautifully while integrating seamlessly with the project’s highly curated interiors. The team selected Akouo’s WoodLine Classic perforated panels and custom GiosFelt panels for their balance of sound control, visual warmth and design flexibility in a hospitality setting where every surface plays a role.

Together, the wood and felt panel systems helped elevate the guest experience by softening reverberation, encouraging a more intimate atmosphere and complementing the historic-meets-contemporary character of The Vault at The Waymark Hotel.
